Living and studying in Paris
Studying in Paris is one of the most pleasant and enriching experiences that a student may have over his/her lifetime. The capital of France, with its enormous cultural and educational resources serves as a common campus to all university students based in it.
Renting an apartment
You may find an apartment through an agency or intermediary. Agencies that handle rentals are known as agences de location. The apartment rental contract is an important document. You will need it when you apply for your residence permit (carte de séjour).
Student housing aid
After renting an apartment through legal channels, you may apply for state housing aid for foreign students managed by CAF (Caisse d’Allocations Familiales).
Opening a bank account
Please note that banking practices and formalities may vary from one bank to another as well as within branches of the same bank. It is better to use personal checks or credit card as means of payment.
The RIB
Relevé d’Identité Bancaire or RIB is a printed tag that indicates the codes of your bank and the branch, and your account number. The RIB is used for arranging electronic bank transfers. By providing a RIB, you may ask for automatic transfer of your electric and gas bills, payment of social security reimbursements or international wire transfers. You also need a RIB when you apply for the student housing aid.

The International Institute of Paris Degree is delivered by 2IP and Accredited by ASIC and recognize by the French Minister of Education-Academy of Paris (Rectorat de Paris).
